Welcome to the Newport Charter Yacht Show!
Celebrating 35 years in existence, the Newport Charter Yacht Show is a showcase of luxury charter yachts alongside a display of ancillary goods and services for the charter industry. This four-day event is dedicated exclusively to yacht charter professionals; agents, owners, brokers and captains in the dynamic, picturesque setting of Newport, Rhode Island. The Newport Charter Yacht Show is produced by Newport Shipyard, also the host to the Newport Brokerage Boat Show held concurrently with the Newport International Boat Show each September.
Newport Shipyard is proud to announce that Helly Hansen Newport, the oldest Helly Hansen licensed store in North America, owned by Jay Lasky, has signed on for the fourth straight year as the presenting partner of the 2019 Newport Charter Yacht Show. Held each June at Newport Shipyard, the Newport Charter Yacht Show will feature an impressive lineup of power yachts and sailing vessels available for private charter. The 2019 show, slated to be held June 17-20, will offer yacht charter brokers and industry professionals from around the world the opportunity to preview participating charter yachts headed to New England for the season.
From June 18-21, the Newport Charter Yacht Show presented by Helly Hansen Newportprovided a four-day window of opportunity for brokers, managers and other industry professionals to acquaint themselves with 24 luxury yachts available for summer charter in the New England area. As well, it gave attendees a chance to network, share information and socialize on the docks and at seminars and special events, mixing business with a good amount of pleasure.
“Everyone is ‘on’ and friendly here, like they’ve known you forever,” said Maggie Vale, a local broker with Churchill Yacht Partners who attended the show. “It’s the New England way, and with the sunny weather we’ve had, you can’t say anything bad about Newport.”
There was no shortage of crew enthusiasm at this year’s Newport Charter Yacht Show presented by Helly Hansen Newport (Monday, June 18 through Thursday June 21), especially at the show’s five competitions designed specifically for showing off the talent, determination and creativity of chefs, captains, deck hands, stewards and stewardesses. In cheering on the crew contestants, brokers, managers and other charter industry professionals who attended the show enjoyed a break from business and gained further insight into the personalities of those who normally spend their days lavishing attention on charter guests.
Of the 24 charter yachts registered for the show, 18 were new to the event and 13 measured in at 100 feet and longer. Over 45 crew from 15 boats participated in the competitions. The Newport Charter Yacht Show was staged at the mega-yacht friendly Newport Shipyard, which also owns and operates the event.
