Changing it up this year, AYCA is organizing six roundtables for speakers to rotate from table to table for "speed info presentations." It will be an intimate setting where you will sit at a table of your peers and gather information as presenters bring pertinent industry information to you!

Charter yachts who plan to participate in the 2018 Newport Charter Yacht Show in Newport, RI have two weeks left to save 20% on dockage and registrations fees. 2018 NEWPORT CHARTER YACHT SHOW REGISTRATION NOW OPEN

The charter show, which features luxury sailing and motor vessels available for charter in New England, is open to yacht brokers, agents and industry professionals. The show will be held at Newport Shipyard in Newport, Rhode Island June 18-21, 2018 and will once again be presented by Helly Hansen.
“The 2017 Charter Show was a huge success with 25 yachts participating in the show and over 80 charter brokers attending from around the US,” said Eli Dana, Newport Shipyard’s general manager. “One of the highlights of the show was the final party and awards where nearly every yacht crew attended to cheer each other on and graciously accept their crew competition awards,” Dana continued. “It was a really fun night and we hope to make next year’s party just as fun and engaging for the captains, crew, sponsors, brokers and industry professionals in attendance.”

NEWPORT CHARTER YACHT SHOW PRESENTED BY HELLY HANSEN NEWPORT: LASTING IMPRESSIONS
The annual Newport Charter Yacht Show presented by Helly Hansen brought out the best in all who participated, including 100+ brokers and agents from 43 different charter yacht companies, 23 sponsors, 15 exhibiting vendors, 40 non-exhibiting vendors and captains and crews of 25 luxury yachts, ranging in size from the 60’ (18.3m) sailing vessel Beau Geste, presented by Bristol Marine, to the 198’ (60.4m) motor yacht Blue Moon, presented by Northrop and Johnson. The show, owned and managed by Newport Shipyard, took place on the company’s 10-acre waterfront facility for its second consecutive year over June 19-23 and was conclusively “bigger and better.”
“This is a much more open and public charter show than the others,” said Herman Pundt of Hargrave Custom Yachts, who liked that tourists and others from the community could walk the docks and check out the wares and services of exhibiting vendors along the main thoroughfare at Newport Shipyard, “and this year it evolved to have an even better flow, with everything close together and easy to navigate.”

“Best Chefs” and Others Show Off Culinary/Crew Skills at Newport Charter Yacht Show presented by Helly Hansen
It’s often said that the captain and crew make the charter, and to drive that point home crew competitions and activities throughout the five-day Newport Charter Yacht Show presented by Helly Hansen (Monday, June 19 through Friday, June 23) highlighted not only the skills but also the personalities of the professionals in charge of client pleasure on the show’s 25 participating yachts.
On Tuesday, in a contest organized by Winnie DeCoster of The Captain’s Concierge and sponsored by ISS GMT Global Marine Travel and Denison Yacht Sales, chefs from eight yachts competed whisk-to-whisk for the coveted title of “Best Charter Yacht Chef.” The participants were given a basket of ingredients that included 10 oz. strips of Wagyu steak; various micros, flowers, greens, vegetables, and herbs; and Rhubarb.

The annual Newport Charter Yacht Show presented by Helly Hansen will showcase 25 large and luxurious charter yachts at the docks of Newport Shipyard this coming Monday (June 19) through Friday (June 23). While the public is invited to peek from shore at these beauties and interact with sponsors and vendors showing and selling their wares under dockside tents, the show really is about sharing with charter brokers from across the country and the world which yachts are available for on-water vacations in New England for summer and fall. Brokers come to the show to learn about the different amenities each yacht offers (deck layout, interior living spaces, furnishings, water toys and the like) as well as the personality and special talents of its captain and crew, which goes a long way in creating perfect matches for discriminating clients.
